Lisbon introduces tourist tax

From 2015 the government of Lisbon will charge 1 Euro for each tourist, arriving to the capital on any kind of transportation, including train, bus, private car, airplane.
This tax is supposed to be a temporary one and will be charged till 2019, when new strategic plan for tourism development in Lisbon will be ended.
Moreover, starting from 2016, Lisbon government is going to charge 1 Euro for each night stay in the city's hotels. This tax is also supposed to be charged till 2019 and won't be applied to children. Besides, this tax will be charged also for the first week stay in the city, so tourists, who visit Lisbon for eight or more nights, will pay only 7 Euros.
