05-07-2016
The large-scale passenger terminal in St. Petersburg named the Marine Façade and built on the Vasilevskiy Island under the sea front development project, which has been consistently taking on passengers since 2008, will become a centre of international water tourism in the years ahead.
Andrei Mushkarev announced this on June 30, just a few days after he had taken office of the head for St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee. The vast area around the terminal, which lies outside the protective zone of St. Petersburg, is not subject to prohibitions on construction. Therefore, it is expected to be soon developed with expo and training facilities put into operation and function as a location for festivals and entertainments. The new group of buildings will be associated with the sea and, according to the officials, able to show to visitors with success that “the marine lifestyle” is attractive and diverse.Mushkarev is sure that the new project that has no considerable competitors in any European country will become an attraction for both city residents, and tourists from various regions of Russia and other countries.
