Night of Museums will take place in the cities of Russia on May 21-22 2016

Russian museums join the international traditions and during one night of the year open their doors to all visitors. In 2016 it will be the night on May 21-22. From 18:00 till 06:00 museums will open their doors for 'night owls’ to present the unique programs and performances.

In St. Petersburg every night like this has one common theme, and this year it is "The very first". Each museum will prepare special programs which tell the visitors about what the discoveries, the first steps, innovative solutions, first used techniques and approaches are related to the museum's collection. Visitors will know about the the newest technologies, the amazing discoveries and the daring records, and have a chance to do something for the first time by themselves and thus also become the very first.

In the Northern Capital 99 museums and cultural institutions take part in the event, including the Artillery Museum, the Museum of History of Religion, Museum of Blockade, Political History museum, and suburban residences Gatchina, Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo as well as Zoo, libraries and many other interesting places of the city.
