The Central Armed Forces Museum was founded in 1919. Its exposition is accommodated in twenty four halls and numbers approximately 800 thousand exhibits of military and historical themes. More than thousand albums and photos from the end of the XIX century is a part of the Central Armed Forces Museum collections. In its fund there are authentic relics, such as felt cloak of Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev. The standard, which was raised on the Reichstag building in the night of the capture of Berlin by Russian Army, has a special place in the banner collection of the museum. More than fifty thousand of pieces are in the art department, among which there are battle pictures by K. Petrov-Vodkin and M. Grekov. Also, the scale collection of photos, made by military correspondents and personal collection of Joseph Stalin, are represented in the museum.
On the observation site, which is located on the territory of the museum, the pieces of the military equipment, starting from the XVIII century, are set up. Among the exhibits there are armored vehicles, planes, military helicopters, rocket complex, the whole artillery systems, and also examples of captured weapons. The modern supersonic all-weather attack aircraft Sukhoi Su-24 and jet fighter aircrafts Mikoyan MiG-29 and Sukhoi Su-27 attract visitors most of all.

Museum workers can offer your children not only take part in excursion programs, but also visit thematic lessons, during which they can hold in their own hands the real relics, such as decorations of the people, who take part in the battle of Moscow and famous Nagant M1895 Revolver. No one child can resist the temptation to get in the cabin of tank or armored troop carrier and fell like a real hero.
