Moscow: Safety

Moscow is considered to be one of the most dangerous cities of the world. Foreign Policy magazine declared that Moscow is in the fifth place among world capitals dangerous for life. But despite this fact tourists arrived in Moscow have nothing to fear: you should only follow the common advices for visiting any megapolis.

You shouldn't drink tap water in Moscow, only after filtering or boiling.

In October 2011 the Tourist Committee opened Call-center for foreign tourists. You can get information about the historical and memorable places of Moscow, contacts and opening hours of the organizations, information about public transport, cost and availability of different tickets, etc. The information is given both in Russian and English.

Call-center: 8-800-220-00-01 and 8-800-220-00-02
Emergency: 01
Police: 02
Ambulance: 03
Emergency gas service: 04
