Another volcano raged in Iceland
22-08-2014
Government of Iceland announced orange (penultimate) severity due to possible convulsion of Bardarbunga volcano. It shows seismic activity since 16 August.
Series of earthquake shocks were recorded, the strongest one achieved 3.8 magnitude, Reutres says. Due to the risk of forthcoming eruption government had to block several highways on South-East of the country. Also, warnings were sent to the local airlines.
For the whole monitoring history Bardarbunga volcano repeatedly erupted once every few centuries. Its last eruption was in 1910.
In 2010 convulsion of the Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajökull for a few days paralyzed aircraft service in Europe. Airlines losses estimated at $ 1.7 billion.
