In May the first floating hotels will appear on the embankments of St. Petersburg

The Commission on Industry, Economy and Entrepreneurship supported a bill that allows entrepreneurs to rent parts of the embankments for the mooring of floating hotels. In addition, the St. Petersburg government has developed a model project for construction on the water.

Hotels on water, according to the bill, should appear in the area of the Vyborgskaya embankment or on Malaya Nevka. Previously, during a meeting of the St. Petersburg government, an announcement was made that the first series of floating hotels would be launched in the city by May 2018. Among the first companies that announced their plan to build hotels on water was a company called "City on Water". It is willing to invest about one billion roubles in the construction of three floating hotels. Experts have developed projects in the waters of the Neva and the Bolshaya Nevka river, on the Vyborgskaya embankment (opposite buildings 18 and 61) and Voskresenskaya embankment (opposite the building 6-8).

According to deputies, floating hotels will raise the appeal of St. Petersburg to tourists.
