As part of the Baltic Yacht Week, traditionally held in St. Petersburg in summer, dozens of magnificent typical sailboats will fill the Neva water area. Citizens and tourists will be able to enjoy a striking and unforgettable parade of vessels, watch a regatta and even board sailboats.
On July, 3-9, the city will host the St. Petersburg Maritime Assembly that will combine spectacular events with marine and river subjects. For example, a stand-uppaddle boardingfestival, a river carnival or a parade of passenger and sightseeing vessels. A large-scale parade of sailing ships and traditional yachts held every summer in a period of several years will be a key event of the Assembly.
Dozens of typical sailing yachts participating in the regattawill be invading the Neva water area during the whole week. Typical yachts are those vessels that were builtbefore or in 1965 subject to half-a-century-oldproduction methods. Each sailing yacht has its own history, destiny and unique architecture. Visitors will be able to board them and see how these magnificent ships are arranged. At the same time, the Peter and Paul Fortress will show an interactive program in honour of the Assembly with concerts, exhibitions, a fair of sea things, film shows and workshops.
