VDNKh – meaning “The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy” was established in 1935. It is one of the largest exhibitions, museums and recreation complexes in the world and one of the most popular public places in Moscow till now. More than 24 million guests visit it every year. Here you can see pavilions built in the Soviet empire style, neo-classicism and modernism, as well as authentic vases, mosaics, murals, large and small parks and unique fountains. Memorial museum of Cosmonautics
This museum is situated inside of an enormous monument dedicated to the Conquerors of Space. It presents a wide variety of Soviet and Russian space-related exhibits and models which show the history of flights, astronomy, space exploration and technology as well as space in the arts. You will know how the Soviet space science developed starting from the first man-made satellites to the first manned space flight, first space walks, Moon and Solar system exploration programs and international space research programs. There's plenty of fun gadgetry, plus an excellently conceived display explaining how astronauts survive in a space flight, all of which should be interesting for children as well.
