Entertainments r

The solemn opening of the circus was held in 1880 under the management of the hereditary artist A. Salamonsky, who performed here for the first time with the 15 trained stallions. He tried to attract to the circus not only the merchants, but also the common people, so he decided to sell very chip tickets for the gods. He became a real innovator as he inserted performances for children, because the circus that time was only for adults. It was a real prosperity of the clownery during the Soviet times, because clowns Karandash (M. N. Rumyantsev), O. Popov and Y. Nikulin made people laugh until ones cry. After Y. Nikulin the circus was named after 1996 for his contribution in development of the circus art for more than 50 years of work.
