Moscow Zoo is the very first Russian zoo, and as before, the biggest one. It was opened in the middle of the XIX century. Nowadays, the zoo houses more than eight thousand of representatives of approximately 1100 species of fauna from the different parts of our planet. Its job is in preserving of the species diversity, research and educational work.

When you came to the zoo, you should visit the House of Birds, where you will be amazed by the variety of bright colors and hubbub of birds. The House of Monkeys will surprise you by the quick-wittedness and sharpness of its inhabitants. If you want to see the sea fauna, you go to the Exotarium and Dolphinarium, where you can make the great photos with these sea inhabitants. On the old territory of the Zoo, there is the elephant zone with two-storey observation site.
Recently, the new program appeared in the Zoo. Now visitors can see with their own eyes how zoo workers take care of the animals. While feeding and special trainings, specialists will tell you about the specifics of the looking after the different kinds of animals.
Interesting for children r
Besides the traditional excursions for everybody, there is also a "Pony club" for kids, which is opened in the stable of the Moscow Zoo. Here children can not only learn how to seat in the saddle in charge of the skilled jockeys, but also train to participate in competitions. The oldest function children's club in Russia is still opened - the club of young biologists, among graduates of which are nine academics, forty professors and more than three hundred of doctors of science.
