The sculptural composition with the height of 98 meters is the unique engineering structure. The artificial island was created for the installation of the construction on the spot, where the Catch Water drain is parted from Moscow River. The monument presents the pylon, which is set up on the granite basement and topped with the bronze boat. In the boat there is the figure of Peter the Great with the gold scroll in his hand. The outer bronze surface was drifted on the supporting frame from stainless steel. The pedestal, the boat and the figure were completed separately, the details for the installation were ready made. Hinged shrouds, made from stainless steel, were twisted from several rope's ends. For the minimization of the weight of the final construction, the canvas were made of copper and hollow inside. The Russian Navy Ensigns, which are locked in by the chocks, also serve as weathercocks. In the pedestal, made from reinforced concrete, there are fountains, which create the impression, that the boat cuts though the waves.
